Following up on our earlier post, here is what has changed and what has not.
Current Status
• Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s civil lawsuit is still pending. There has been no court ruling yet.
• The Texas State Securities Board has publicly disputed the lawsuit’s securities framing, saying its review did not find violations of parts of the Texas Securities Act.
• Developers have filed to move the case to federal court. No ruling has been issued on that request.
• Collin County flagged the initial development application as incomplete because of missing documentation. This was not a denial of the project. The developer can resubmit.
• Developers have continued submitting routine planning documents related to infrastructure, drainage, utilities, and safety.
• The project is still proposed as a 402-acre planned community near Josephine, now publicly referred to as The Meadow.
Why This Matters for Princeton
Large regional developments can influence nearby communities even when they are outside city limits.
Projects of this scale can affect:
• housing demand
• infrastructure pressure
• regional traffic patterns
• growth expectations across neighboring cities
For Princeton, that means large nearby projects may still matter even when they are not inside the city itself.
Bottom Line
The lawsuit is ongoing.
County review remains procedural and incomplete.
No final approvals or court decisions have been made.
